Theory/Methods Introduction Blog
Hello my name is Aurianna Arrington, I chose to add an image of me from my summer; I went to Vegas for the first time and enjoyed everything about it. I am a BFA major and have a minor in Exercise science. I chose art as my path because I enjoy the creative concept of art and never have a dull moment when it comes to art. I also like health, and I'm very interested in nutrition as well as how the human body works. (hence my degree choice) This course I am excited to look into modern art and to analyze the meaning of artwork from the modern time. My favorite kind of art is body art or I love to look at abstract and complex art pieces that have so much going on your eyes will wonder the art for hours, just searching for all the different details within the art piece. The art piece I provided below is a great example of artwork that catches my eyes and is also beautiful to me.
For me art is very subjective and always depends on a person's opinion whether an art piece would be considered beautiful. This isn’t for all cases but with most I lean towards subjective. The reason I chose the art above is because I love abstract art and also the body form. Finding art pieces that can express something I’m interested in helps me to adore the details and feel great inspiration from these pieces especially when it's body art that gets mashed up with unique style. Lately I’ve been tackling the challenges of making my own art using human figures but adding twist to it, using colors, texture, or even making my figures less human like and more supernatural. When it comes to art’s beauty, I tend to fall for color schemes or the image itself will have to stand out and speak to me on an internal level. I’m very much drawn to art with a lot going on and with lots of detail included. I’m excited for this semester and can’t wait to see all that I learn from this course, hopefully finding inspiration from art pieces that we look at in class.
Hi Aurianna, glad you have fun in Vegas I've only been there once but sadly had no time to explore. But I like this painting you decided to talk about because of the use of color in it, I like paintings or peices of art work that have vibrant colors like this one because it makes more interesting I think.
ReplyDeletethank you, and awh well you should try to make it out to Vegas again and explore! there is just so much to see out there it was lots of fun! I didn't even see everything but I plan to go again some day! and I'm glad you like the art piece I am also very drawn to vibrant colors in art it definitely keeps me more engaged in an art work when I see lots of colors or even just pops of colors that compliment each other.
DeleteHi Aurianna! That's cool you went to Vegas I've been there twice and I'd love to go back again! I also agree with you about how art makes you feel. Exercise science is very important and from other classes I like how you combine the both in some of your projects I've seen. Also, I love the piece you chose and all of the colors!
